William “Bill” Geiger, 90, of Solen, passed away on September 18, 2019.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Joshua Waltz as celebrant. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Bill was born on May 5, 1929 to Adam and Katherine (Roshau) Geiger in Solen, ND. He was raised on the family farm before entering the U.S. Army in 1951. Bill served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953 with a rank of Sergeant. Following his service, he returned home to the family ranch.
He married Alice Leingang on November 5, 1957 in Fort Yates and together they had 3 wonderful children. They proudly raised their family on the family ranch.
Bill loved hunting, fishing, horses, raising cattle, especially coyote hunting and most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alice of Solen; his children, Melinda (Keith) Kempenich of Bowman, Bill Geiger and special friend, Bev Anton of Bismarck, and Holly (Rob) Brooks of Rhame; 8 grandchildren, Mikayla, Larissa (Jaron) Kellan, Kaitlin, Haley (Garrett), Mark, Hank (Paige), and Natalie; 2 great-grandchildren, Oliver and Elias; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
