Nine local rodeo athletes competed in the ND State Junior High Rodeo Finals May 16th & 17th in Bismarck.

The state competition consisted of the top 30 Cowboys/Cowgirls from around the state in 13 different rodeo events. The Junior High Rodeo finals is ran similar to the High School finals with two long rounds, average and short go points.
Competing at the 2019 NDJHRD State finals for the Bowman Rodeo Club were:
Sam Andrews qualified in the tie down & ribbon roping. Sam is the 8th grade son of Wes & TobiAnn Andrews. Sam finished the year 6th in tie down & 6th place in ribbon roping with partner Gracie Blaser.
TJ Andrews qualified in the goat tying and breakaway roping. TJ is the 6th grade son of Wes & TobiAnn Andrews. TJ finished 13th in goat tying & 18th in breakaway.
Gracie Blaser qualified in the ribbon roping, pole bending, goat tying, barrel racing & breakaway roping. Gracie is the 7th grade daughter of Cory & Kristi Blaser. Gracie finished 6th in ribbon roping with partner Sam Andrews, 4th in poles, 10th in goat tying, 30thin breakaway, 9th in barrels & 5th in Girls All Around.
Timber Hauso qualified in the ribbon roping, pole bending, goat tying & breakaway roping. Timber is the 8th grade daughter of Tyann Hauso & Clint Cobb. Timber finished 11th in ribbon roping with partner Riggs Rotenberger, 24th in poles, 9th in goats & 22nd in breakaway.
Kenzie Homelvig qualified in the ribbon roping, pole bending, goat tying, breakaway roping & barrel racing. Kenzie is the 7th grade daughter of Russ & Blaine Homelvig. Kenzie finished as Champion ribbon roping runner with partner Kolby Sperry, 3rd in poles, 4th in goats, 6th in breakaway, 24th in barrels & 3rd in Girls All Around.
Coy Marmon qualified in the goat tying. Coy is the 7th grade son of Wade & Tina Marmon. Coy finished 11th in the goats.
Alyssa Martian qualified in the breakaway roping. Alyssa is the 6th grade daughter of Scott & Sarah Martian. Alyssa finished 20th in the breakaway.
Riggs Rotenberger qualified in chute dogging, goat tying, breakaway roping, team roping & ribbon roping. Riggs is the 7th grade son of Chad & Michelle Rotenberger. Riggs finished as Reserve Champion Chute Dogger, Reserve Champion Goat Tier, 11th in breakaway, 13th in team roping, 11th in ribbon roping with partner Timber Hauso & 6th in boys all around.
Saylor Wilson qualified in goat tying, pole bending, breakaway roping & barrel racing. Saylor is the 8th grade daughter of Rollie & CJ Wilson. Saylor finished as Reserve Champion Goat Tyer, 9th in poles, 9th in breakaway, 10th in barrels & 4th in girls all around.
To qualify for the Junior High National finals the contestant must finish in the top 4 in their event at the State finals. When the dust settled on the arena, Bowman County qualified 4 contestants that will be traveling to Huron South Dakota on June 23-29 to compete in the 15th annual National Junior High Finals Rodeo.
Attending this year’s finals are Gracie Blaser in pole bending, Kenzie Homelvig in ribbon roping, pole bending & goat tying, Riggs Rotenberger in chute dogging & goat tying and Saylor Wilson in goat tying.
