Delores Rose (Bagley) Scally, 81, died unexpectedly on April 24,2019 at the Lake Mary Health and Rehabilitation Center In Lake Mary,FL.
Delores was born June 15, 1937 in Bowman,ND. She was the sixth born of seven children to Walter and Ellen Bagley. She attended the Gem School and Bowman High School, where she played on the girls basketball team and was a cheerleader. Delores, or “Dee” as she was known to many, came to Washington D.C. at the age of 18 to work for the Federal Government. She married and settled in southern Maryland to raise a family. She worked her way up at the Department of Navy holding a variety of positions including Financial Manager, Program Analysts and Business/Industrial Specialist. She attended college part-time for many years and received her B.A. from U of MD University College. After retiring from the Department of Navy in 1988, she went to work for Dept. of Defense contractors including SYSCON Corp, AECPO Inc.and EG&G, until her final retirement. In her later years she also lived in Alexandria, VA and Annapolis, MD. She moved to Lake Mary, FL in 2003, where she could be close to her son and grandchildren. She enjoyed the warm weather, going to the Disney parks with her family and staying active with her gardening projects. She was especially proud of her roses.
Delores was both a heart attack and breast cancer survivor. She was a strong, independent woman and a wonderful mother who was very generous and loving. She had a great sense of humor, smiled easily, and loved to laugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter G.Bagley and Ellen I.(Gross) Bagley, her brother Walter Bagley, her sisters Elaine Hofland, Marion Bagley and Ferne Freitag, her son, John Joseph Scally, and her daughter, Patricia Ann Scally. She is survived by her brother Dennis Bagley of Harvey, ND, sister Joy Swanson of Buffalo, WY, son Jeffery D. Scally of Lake Mary, FL and daughter, Deborah L. Schneider (Scott) of Edgewater, MD, and her grandchildren , Gary A. Mitchell, Jennifer L. Scally, Andrew J. Scally, and Brian J. Scally, step-grandson Clayton Schneider, and great-grandson Theo Daniel Gimenez.
Services will be held at Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater, MD on May 18, to include 11:00 a.m. family visitation and 12:00 memorial service followed by a lunch reception.
