Classic Beauty now features men’s night

The Classic Beauty Salon now offers more than just a typical haircut, color and trimmings usually associated with a salon. The Classic Beauty Salon, which is owned by Bailey Mutschelknaus, offers a men’s night.

“My vision is to have a little more man-friendly environment for our salon,” Mutschelknaus said.

To accomplish that goal, the Classic Beauty Salon is staying open later on the first and third Thursday every month to accommodate men. No appointments are necessary. The Salon is just offering walk-ins for men.

Mutschelknaus said the salon is offering beer to help men feel more at ease. They are also offering a hot towel, and they are offering a shampoo and scalp message.

“We’re trying to make it feel more like a man’s salon that you can find in bigger cities,” Mutschelknaus said.

The Classic Beauty Salon is attempting something different. With most men working throughout the day, the men’s night is scheduled between 6:30-8:30 p.m. Also, to avoid a conflict with other activities, Mutschelknaus said that’s why Thursday was chosen. Wednesday nights are men’s golf nights and Tuesday nights are women’s golf nights, which might force men to stay home with their children, so Thursday was the logical choice, according to Mutschelknaus.

“We’re just trying to offer something different in this area,” Mutschelknaus said.

The first men’s night was held Thursday, March 21. Mutschelknaus said the first night was OK. It wasn’t super busy, which allowed the staff an opportunity to get arranged and figure out exactly what they needed.

Mutschelknaus said men’s night is hopefully going to become a permanent fixture at Classic Beauty Salon.
