Alvin was born January 7, 1960 in Dickinson, ND to Robert L. and Victoria (Cymbaluk) Ridl.  He attended and graduated from Bowman High School in 1978.

At an early age Alvin began driving cement truck for his dad and working alongside his brother at Bowman Ready Mix; also working part-time at Bowman Auction Market; going out to the farm and checking on the cows and doing ranch work.

On September 14, 1984 Alvin married Marsha Hochhalter inBowman, ND.  Alvin and Marsha have two children, Brad born in 1986 and Amanda in 1988.

Alvin continued to drive truck until his illness prevented him from doing so.  Alvin was diagnosed with MoyaMoya disease in 2002.  He overcame several brain surgeries living every day like it was his last.

Alvin loved to dance; just ask all the girls waiting in line to dance with him.  He was probably the best jitterbugger in Bowman County.

Alvin never said “no” to anyone that asked a favor of him.  He volunteered his time to help at any rodeo event in Bowman and helped area ranchers trim their bulls.

Alvin was an avid lover of John Wayne and old westerns. Alvin loved to play pool with Brad’s friends. He loved his Denver Broncos as everyone knows and they might even win a super bowl now.

Alvin will be missed by so many in this community and surrounding areas.
