Jarold “Jerry” Ralph Brooks, 74 of Scranton passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 11 at his home and is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A celebration of his life will be held on January 19, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home in Bowman, ND with
Reverend Mary Wiggins presiding.
Jerry was born March 22, 1944 at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA to Anna Marie (Christopherson) and Ralph Brooks. He attended Christian grade school in Long Beach, CA until 7th grade when the family moved to the Huron, SD area where he graduated high school. He served in the Army National Guard Special Reserve from 1964 -1970 as a Medic. He was a self-employed flooring installer for most of his life.
On May 28, 1969 he married Lesley Neiman in Montevideo, MN and had five children, Brian, Heather, Bradley, Corinna, and Laura. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and photography. He was a wonderful woodworker and craftsman in his trade. His friends and family fondly remember his incredible sense of humor and wit.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lesley, his five children, Brian (Camille) Sauk Rapids, MN, Heather (Allan) Cody, WY, Bradley (Kristine) Sturgis, SD, Corinna (Chris), Laurel, MT, and Laura (Steve) Cody, WY, two brothers Ralph Jr., Huron, SD, and John (Sandy) Sioux Falls, SD, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren with two more (twins) on the way.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Marie and Ralph Brooks and three brothers, Jim, Paul, and Scott.
