At a special board meeting held Tuesday, Dec. 19, the school board discussed various issues regarding the search process for a new superintendent. One of the topics was involving community members, staff and possibly students in the process. While the details haven’t been finalized, the board would like to include those aforementioned members in the search.

The school board also decided to hold community meetings to give community members the opportunity to ask questions and give input on a future superintendent. The first meeting will be held Jan. 3, at rotary. The second meeting will be a Rhame Community Meeting at 6:30 p.m., on Jan. 7, at Rhame School. The third meeting will be a Bowman Community Meeting at 6:30 p.m., on Jan. 9, at Bowman County School.

The school board will open up the application process, beginning Jan. 15 and the application will close Feb. 15. The school board will meet Feb. 25 in executive session to discuss the applicants. The school board is looking at conducting interviews the first week of March.

The base salary for the new superintendent is $110,000, but the school board said the salary was negotiable based on experience and other factors.
