HHTR is a 501 © 3 organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with physical, cognitive, emotional, educational and behavior disabilities, youth at risk, abused and neglected through equine-assisted activities and therapies.

Those in attendance enjoyed a chili and cornbread feed, prepared and served by Susan Hinek, Sandra Phelps, and Julie Silha, with various desserts donated by Bronson’s Marketplace. An evening of relay entertainment followed with MC Scott Bachmeier.

Kicking off the entertainment, teams of four competed in a bouncy horse relay in which the first rider bounced around a barrel, the second bounced to a rope and roped a dummy, the third bounced to a marker and tossed beanbags into a bucket and the fourth bounced all the way home. The winning team was comprised of Alyssa Martian, Gracie Blaser, Hadley and Sophia Headley. The girls donated their $100 winnings back to the HHTR.

Teams of youth of all ages competed in relays consisting of human wheelbarrow races, egg-on-a-spoon, cross-country ski race, and “Mamma Goes to Market” in which they put on over-sized clothes and raced to eat a variety of food items, all while dancing. Bachmeier rounded out the evening by calling a dance off for all the kids in attendance.
