Evelyn “Evie” Fretheim, 76, of Bowman, ND, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Southwest Healthcare Long Term Center in Bowman.
Funeral Services for Evie will be on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bowman Lutheran Church in Bowman. Pastor Jackie Bloom will officiate with burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018 in the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis.
Visitation for Evie will be on Wednesday, from 12-9 at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel.
Evie Rambel was born on March 26, 1942 in Stanley, ND, the daughter of Ole and Aninda (Mehus) Rambel. Evie grew up the youngest on a farm near Ross, ND, with 4 brothers and 3 sister. She attended country school. On December 16th, 1958, Evie was united in marriage to Allan Fretheim. To this union, 4 boys were born; Robert, Bruce, Ricky and Jody. They lived in Ross for a short time and then moved to Brighten, CO. In 1963, they moved back to Sanish, ND and eventually to New Town, ND, where she worked as a waitress. In 1976 they moved to Bowman, ND. Evie worked at the Town and Country Café, Flagstone Terrace, Quick Stop Convenience Store and Twin Butte Liquors where she worked for many years. She enjoyed her grandkids immensely. She loved animals and especially horses, traveling back home to New Town and visiting with all of her many friends and she was good at it. Her door was always open for anyone.
She is survived by her sons; Robert, Bruce, Ricky (Ginger) and Jody, grandsons, Shayne and Chad; sister, Alvina and two special niece and nephew, Cindy Lagerquist and Randy Roice and “many” more nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Aninda, husband Allan, brothers, Albert, Melvin, Elmer and Marvin and sisters, Leona and Millie.
