Jon B. Carlson, 52, of Bowman, ND, passed away on August 13, 2012 at St Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
Posted on August 30, 2012 Jon B. Carlson, 52, of Bowman, ND, passed away on August 13, 2012 at St Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Rhame, ND. Pastor Charles Swanson and Pastor Galen Strand officiated, with burial that followed in the Tuttle Cemetery, rural Rhame. There was visitation from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Krebsbach Funeral Home chapel. Jon B. Carlson was born on October 2, 1959, in Miles City, MT, the son of Donald and Beverly Carlson. He received his education in Rhame, ND, graduating from Rhame High School in 1977, where he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball. He worked at various jobs in the local area including several years at The Finder before opening Jon’s Print Shop in Bowman in October 1990. On September 27, 1988, his daughter, Miranda, was born. He raised her as his pride and joy in Bowman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping as well as attending various sports activities his nephew, Keith, and niece, Kayla, participated in. Spending time with family was always important to Jon. He always maintained a sense of humor despite being plagued by multiple illnesses for many years. He was always comforted by the companionship of his canine pals, Gizmo and Buddy. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Rhame. Jon is survived by daughter: Miranda of Bowman, ND; sister and brother-in-law: Denise and Mark Loutzenhiser of Washburn, ND; nephew Keith Loutzenhiser of Bismarck, ND; niece Kayla Loutzenhiser of Washburn, ND; aunts: Glenda Kniefel of Billings, MT; Bonita and Ervin Follmer of Glendive, MT; Ione Carlson of Bowman, ND; and Bernice Carlson of Billings, MT; uncles: Dennis and Judy Idler of Glasgow, MT; and Herbert Carlson of Rhame, ND, and many cousins and friends also survive. Jon was preceded in death by his parents: Donald and Beverly Carlson; Miranda’s mother, Sherie Couch; uncles: Milford Carlson, Arnold Carlson, and Vernon Fossum; and aunt Jeannine Carlson.
