Whether known by Duke, George, or Mr. Peters, he will be remembered for his warm smile and willingness to help anyone with a problem, large or small, whether he knew them or not. He was blessed with many wonderful friends and thought the world of them.
In his 32 year career as a High School Guidance Counselor George found a vocation made for him. He believed in each and every student, and did his best to help them unlock the potential he saw in each. He never met a soul he didn’t like!
George ran the race God put before him well, and the rest of us were privileged to share in the ride.
George is survived by his wife Delores, kids Trivian (Brian) Dickard and Lynden (Stacia), grandkids Jordan, Keenan and Alex and over 1700 BHS students! He also leaves behind his (almost twin) brother Jim, brother Gordon, sister Verna (Punkie) Berentson, Aunt Tollie Schaumberg and 16 nieces and nephews. George loved his family fiercely and will be greatly missed by all.
Memorial donations can be made in George’s name to The School of Promise, which was by far his favorite organization.
