Bowman-Slope County, N.D. – The Bowman-Slope County Community Foundation (BSCF) gave out its first grants in December 2017. Recipients were Scranton Quick Response Unit, Hope for Healing, Slope Farmer’s Fair Association for a total of $2400 dollars. These grants were made possible with key gifts from the community lead by Dakota Western Bank of Bowman.
Grant request totaled $9250 on $28,000 of county-wide projects. “We wish we could have done more…says Ron, but we are working to grow the endowment for our community, so in future years, we can become a bigger responder to area service needs that improve our quality of life”.
BSCF is a permanent endowment established in 10/14/2014 to help improve the quality of life in Bowman-Slope Counties. Each year earnings of the fund are awarded as grants to priority projects. BSCF is a component fund managed by the North Dakota Community Foundation who has served ND communities for over 40 years and manages over 600 charitable funds from around the state.
Donations from local or out of state can be given as memorials, from estates, or outright gifts and may qualify for the North Dakota Income Tax credit of 40% if they are paying ND income tax.
