This holiday season, the Bowman County Courthouse is showcasing a community Christmas wreath fundraiser.

According to Bowman Auditor, Sandy Tivis, the fundraiser is not only to showcase sixteen non-profits and charitable organizations but also to invite local families to visit the courthouse. An application selection process was held and sixteen organizations were selected to participate. The auction wreaths were donated at cost by Lasting Visions. Brosz Engineering stepped up and donated fifty dollars to each of the sixteen organizations to offset their cost of decorating wreaths. Although this is the first year of the event, the courthouse is looking to make this an annual event, said Tivis. All proceeds from auction items will go toward the submitted non-profit or charitable organization. The wreaths are on display through Dec., 6. A free community-wide bid party will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 3-6 pm. Refreshments will be provided and tours of the courthouse will be available.
