In conjunction with the North Dakota Council on the Arts, and the Hettinger Music Boosters, we are proud to announce that the Hettinger Public School has an Artist in Residence at our school November 13-15.
Songwriter and recording artist Monte Selby works with thousands of students each year speaking at leadership conferences, providing student assemblies, and writing songs as a powerful literacy event.
Selby has written over 100 published songs that are heard on network television, radio, stage productions, commercials, and included on a 2012 Grammy Award winning album. Music Row magazine describes his songs as “a delightful variety,” “funky,” “astonishing,” and “Wow!”
Selby’s performances include over 1,000 venues across North America and Europe—from small private concerts to large international events.
A former award-winning teacher, principal and professor, Selby uses his background in education to write books and music for teachers and students, offer inspiring presentations, and to compose songs with over thirty thousand students.
To showcase this spectacular event, Monte Selby and the fifth and sixth grade classes will be featured at the Fall Junior High Band and Choir Concert on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 7:00 pm in the gymnasium.
This concert is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
To hear some of Monte’s music and learn more about the concert and the three days of Residency tune in to KNDC and TTO Monday morning, Nov. 13.
