The Bowman County varsity volleyball squad continued their hot streak at home against the Raiders from Richardton-Taylor, sweeping them on Thursday, Sept. 21.

The win gave them six straight, a streak that started on Sept. 9 with a win at Stanley. The Bulldogs had lost their first three games of the season before pulling away with six straight victories.
The two teams matched up well as each set was kept close. Bowman took the first set by just a two-point margin, winning 25-23. The second set was a little more heavy in Bowman County’s favor, winning by six points. The third, and what would ultimately be the final set, was decided by just another two-point margin. This set, however, went extra as the Raiders brought it to 25-24, before Bowman County scored the final point.
Abby Smyle led Bowman County in aces with three. Ellie Stafford followed with two and Ashlyn Dix and Jill Svihovec each had one.
Stafford had 11 kills to lead the team with Kelsie Goodshield coming in second with 10. Cassidy Walby finished with six and Smyle accumulated four.
Stafford and Goodshield each had one block.
Svihovec led the team with 23 kills. Smyle had three with Walby and Goodshield each had one.
Smyle stuck 15 digs, Walby had 14, Svihovec and Maury Burke each accumulated 11 digs each.
