Marie Faris, 95

Marie Faris, 95, of Bowman, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at the Southwest Healthcare Long Term Center in Bowman.

Funeral Services for Marie will be on Monday, June 26, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bowman United Methodist Church in Bowman, ND. Pastor Ron Olson will officiate with burial to follow in the Bowman Cemetery. A Friends and Family service for Marie will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Public visitation will be at the Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2017.

Marie Ostoj was born Aug. 6, 1921, in Richardton, the daughter of Stanley and Clara Ostoj. Her parents relocated to Butte, Mont., in 1936 and Marie remained in North Dakota working for various families in the area.

On Sept. 8, 1943, Marie married Merlin Faris in Baker, Mont. They took over the Faris farm in Slope County where they raised six children and farmed and ranched until retirement.

After retiring in 1979, they purchased a house and moved into Bowman.

Marie attended the Bowman United Methodist Church, was a member of the Sunshine Homemakers Club, volunteered as a 4-H Club leader, was a member of the ladies hospital auxiliary, and volunteered at the Community Cupboard. She also worked at the Coast to Coast store in Bowman.

Marie loved her family and always welcomed family and friends to her home. She made everyone feel comfortable and she loved visiting with anyone. She never failed to remember a birthday or special occasion for all those in her large family and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; Elsie Plough, Margie Sullivan, and Ida Tregear, a son; Gary Faris, and a daughter; Marla Hutzenbiler.

Marie is survived by three sons; Leon Faris, Littleton, Colo.; Arlen (Donna) Faris, Orlando, FL, and Melvin (Syl) Faris, Mandan, N.D., and a daughter, Marlene (Mike) Kemnitz, El Dorado Hills, Calif.; son-in-law Tom Hutzenbiler, 16 grandchildren, Kenny Faris, Jennine Cook, Jerod and Lindsey Faris, Michelle Coccimiglio, Angie Kemnitz, James, Andrew, and Nathan Faris, Ericka and Kaycee Hutzenbiler, Dustin, Brandon, Michael, Maranda, and Andrea Faris, and 20 great grandchildren; Dylan Faris, Kenny, Kalvin, Jessica, and Julia Cook, Connor, Blake, and Addison Faris, Gabriella, Samantha, and Joshua Coccimiglio, Jacoby and Katelynn Jones, Seth and Bryton Faris, Jackson, Serenity, Emily, and Luke Faris, and Maverick VanDoorn.

Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.
