The Post 115 Legion baseball team the Bears opened the season with a doubleheader win over the Bismarck Capitals, 7-4 and 16-10, at Bismarck on June 8.  According to Head Coach Nolan Dix Jarad Mattis picked up the pitching victory in the first game and Jacob Dix provided the punch in the second game with two bases loaded hits that cleared the bases each time.  The Bears had a nine-run explosion in one inning that gave them the game.

Next up on June 12 was a game with the Dickinson 16-year old team.  Brett Christopherson started on the mound for the Bears with Isaac Gjerde pitching for Dickinson.  It was scoreless after the first two innings but Ethan Anderson opened the third inning by getting on base with a walk, stole second base and was brought in on a single by Brady Dillon.  Dillon would later score on a base hit by Mattis.  The Bears would add a run in the fourth, two in the fifth and one more in the seventh.  Dickinson would score two in the fifth for their only runs of the game.

Christopherson would pick up the 6-2 victory with a complete game striking out two, walking two and hitting one batter.  Newcomer Anderson went three-for-three for the Bears while Cody Maier would also have three hits, two for doubles, for Dickinson.

The Bears are hosting a three-team tourney in Hettinger on June 23 with Baker and Dickinson.
