Bowman has five placers at 2017 state track meet

The Bowman County Bulldogs finished their season with three individual placers and two relay teams placing at the state track meet in Bismarck on May 26 and May 27.

Junior Cassidy Walby was the highest placer of the team, getting third in the triple jump with a jump of 35-feet, 1-inch. She surpassed her qualifying jump by almost a foot in the finals.

Senior Matthew Carlson placed fourth in the pole vault event. Carlson was able to get over the bar at the height of 12-foot, 9-inches.

Senior Lacey Feist, competing in the 3200 meter run, placed eighth in the long-distance event. She finished with a time of 11:50.29, just 1.4 seconds behind the seventh-place finisher.

The boys 4×800 meter relay team, that included Andrew Miller, Brian Miller, Caleb Duffield, Alex Madrigal, placed fourth. The group finished with a time of 8:33.62.

Running the 4×400 was Andrew Miller, Madrigal, Carlson, and Adam Powell. The quad ran a time of 3:34.15, finishing seventh in the event.

Junior Meggie Fischer placed ninth in two of the hurdle events, narrowly missing out on a spot on the podium after the finals.

Others who were participating in state track from Bowman County were Jordan Powell, Maury Burke, Abby Smyle, Esmeralda Madrigal, Jocelyn Kulseth, Jacob Svihovec, Ellie Stafford, Jenna Buchholz, and Alexius Miller.
