Willis Enloe, 80, passed away at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. May 11, 2017.
He was born in Bowman, Oct. 21, 1936, twin brother of Wilma Gabrielson, the son of Arvy and Mary (Myhre) Enloe. He was a 1954 graduate of Bowman High School and received a degree in Civil Engineering from NDSU. He was married to Margaret Henning of Hillsboro, N.D. in l961. Willis was an employee of Minnesota Department of Transportation for 40 years, primarily as a district materials engineer.
Following the tradition of his grandfather, Sam Enloe, Willis was a religious diary keeper. These diaries helped win a legal case for the State of Minnesota. He thoroughly enjoyed music from the Statler Broathers and Marty Robbins to the Three Tenors and the Copper Street Brass, hunting and fishing, playing dice, whist and bridge.
He is survived by his wife Margaret, sons John (Deb), Doug (Kris) ,step grandson Nic Fairbanks and sister Arlene Herber, brothers-in-law Ron Bartz and John Gustafson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Ferne Wenckus, Florence Buckley and Wilma Gabrielson. Memorial services will be held at Falcon Heights UCC on May 27.
