Roger Fischer, 56 of Edgemont, S.D., passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 in Custer.
Memorial Services for Roger will be on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Mels Catholic Church in Rhame. Fr. David Morman will officiate with burial to follow in the Tuttle Cemtery, rural Rhame.
Roger A. Fischer was born on Dec. 22, 1960 in Bowman, the son of Raymond and Josephine (Beier) Fischer. He attended grade school and graduated from Rhame High School in 1979.
In 1980 Roger attended UND Center at Williston, N.D., where he received his certificate in welding. In 1986 he graduated from NDSS at Wahpeton, N.D., where he received an associates of Science Degree in Electrical Technology.
After working in Denver, Colo. for a period of time, he returned to South Dakota and opened his own business serving the states of Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. He operated this business until the time of his death. Roger often expressed his sincere appreciation for his many loyal customers.
At the end of his work day, Roger hung up his tool belt and spent time relaxing with his very special friend Stephanie and his black lab Cooper.
Roger truly loved his home in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Roger had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. He spent many hours with them sharing his passion and love of the great outdoors.
Roger’s “Special Favorite” was always the child he was spending time with on any given occasion. Most over heard phrase at family gatherings is “I’m Uncle Roger’s favorite”. Roger is survived by his special friend, Stephanie, his siblings, Dick (Rita) Fischer, JoAnn Erickson, John (Ev) Fischer, Susan (Ben) Cumming, Mike Fischer, Trish (Calvin) Myers, and Wayne (Julie) Fischer as well as many nieces and nephews and good friends. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Jo, brother-in-law, Leland Erickson and nephew, Wade Erickson.
