Robert Warner Perkins was born on Oct. 3, 1922, the son of Ollie [Warner] and William Clark Perkins.  Bud attended Gascoyne School and graduated in 1940 as the valedictorian in the last graduating class from that school. He worked for McDonnell-Douglas in CA for one year, assembling airplanes. He returned home and began farming with his father. The Perkins family homestead remains a part of the family legacy to this day.  He married Myrtice Benson on Oct. 17, 1949 at the Bowman Lutheran Church. To this union four children were born; Randi, Mark, Scott, and Julie. They resided on the family farm near Gascoyne until moving to Scranton in 1971.  In October of 2000, Bud had a farm auction, and sold most of his machinery at that time.  Bud was an avid bowler, enjoyed history of any kind, and was a handy man, being able to build or fix just about anything.  He enjoyed attending many threshing bees, and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.  He was also a member of Yesterday’s Farmers.

Bud is survived by two sons, Randi [Sandy] of Nashville, Tenn., Mark [Gayle] of St. Michael, Minn., and daughter Julie [Richard] of Washburn, ND. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Clark Perkins [Emma Jackson], Kelly [Bill] Robinson, Kat Perkins [Eric Warner], Ryan Johnson, Erica [Cody] Meadows, Loni  [Tearney] Johnson, Alan Johnson, Alicia [Trevor] Kulseth, Jessica [Curtis] Petrick, and Chelsea [Mark] Berler; nine great-grandchildren, William, Henry, and Harper Robinson, Kambree Perkins, Avaree Melby, Reed and Lola Petrick, and Lily and Axton Meadows.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ollie and William Clark Perkins, his wife of 63 years, Myrtice, son Scott Perkins, grandson Sheldon Perkins, and sister and brother-in-law,  Dorothy and Dean Shamburg.
