Nancy K. Soreide, 64 of Bowman passed away at her home on March 29 surrounded by loved ones.
Memorial Services for Nancy will be at 11 a.m. on April 8 at the Bowman Lutheran Church with fellowship to follow. Pastor Mark Nygard will officiate.
Nancy was born Feb. 20, 1953 in Soap Lake, Wash., to Bernard and Betty Shilling. At age 15 the family moved from Redding, Calif., to Minot where she graduated from high school in 1971.
During her high school years Nancy worked in the family construction business as a bookkeeper.
In 1973 she married Merlynn Kolloen and they had two children: Michael Ray, born in 1976 and Chad Merlin, born in 1978.
They lived in Minot for a short time and then moved to Dickinson where they worked and raised their boys.
On Oct. 25, 1997 Nancy married the love of her life, Carl Soreide, where she joined him and his three children in Rhame, where she worked for Cenex until they moved to Bowman in 2001. Carl and Nancy worked side-by-side on their ranch and custom fencing business, as well as Nancy doing bookkeeping at Bowman Cenex, and Snap-on Tools.
Nancy loved her time with Carl, her family, kids, grandkids and friends. She had a passion for photography, gardening, horses and her Hereford cattle. She was an amazing cook and a bright addition to any room.
She will be truly missed.
Nancy is survived in death by her husband Carl, her children Mike (Stephanie) of St. Paul, Minn.; Chad of Dickinson; Kate (Cory) of Powell, Wyo.; Jake (Jillian) of Reeder; and Dan (Jess) of Manassas, Va., and by her grandchildren, Kaci, Cael, Ashlynn, and Kal. She is also survived by her sister Sue (Jerry) McCoy of Shreveport, La., and her brother Kenneth (Carleen) Shilling of Keystone, S.D., as well as nieces, nephews and close friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Betty Shilling.
Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Services was in charge of the arrangements.
