Scranton native and former star of NBC’s “The Voice” will be returning to the stage of the Medora Musical this weekend with some very special guests.

Slated as one of her select 2016 North Dakota concerts, this year’s concert, scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. June 25, will feature new music, including a new single, a few fan-favorite songs and some classic rock hits.

It’s also a special moment for more than two-dozen aspiring musicians hoping to learn tricks of the trade from Perkins.

Opening the concert this year will be the 28 inaugural participants of Perkins’ Badlands Rising Star Music Camp.

“Our young people are nothing short of incredible,” Perkins said. “They are fearless, not afraid to show passion and emotion, and my goal is to use this camp to help stoke that fire and ignite their love for music.”

The participants — which include Tel Lardy, Baylee Peterson and Kaylee Septon of Bowman — of the camp will receive vocal coaching from Perkins and her influential teachers, have a one-of-a-kind Badlands experience and receive mentorship on how to succeed in the music business, something Perkins has navigated well.

Tickets for the Perkins concert and Medora Musical tickets are still available. Guests can pair their Kat Perkins ticket with a Medora Musical ticket for June 25 and save at www.medora.com.
